About Hunting UK

A Life in the British Countryside

An established British field-sports organisation built on local knowledge, traditional practice and a genuine respect for the ground we work.

The Organisation

Heritage & Philosophy

Hunting UK was founded on a simple belief: that a day in the field should be arranged honestly, run properly and remembered for the countryside as much as the sport.

We are not a large commercial operation. We work with a small number of farms, estates and wetlands, and we know each of them personally. That is what allows us to promise only what the ground can genuinely give.

A lifetime in the field
Our Story

A lifetime in the field

Hunting UK began as a small family concern arranging rough shooting and pigeon decoying on farms across the English midlands. Word travelled the way it always has in the countryside — quietly, between people who knew the ground and trusted the man who kept it.

Three decades later we still work the same way. We know our estates personally, we know their keepers and their farmers, and we arrange each day around the sport that is genuinely there rather than the sport that is advertised.

Tradition, carried properly

Tradition, carried properly

Driven game, walked-up shooting, wildfowling on the foreshore and stalking in the high woods are all part of an unbroken British tradition. We take that heritage seriously, and we present it honestly.

Every outing is conducted with proper regard for quarry, habitat and landowner, in line with the law and the best practice of British field sports.

Quietly organised, properly run
Our Approach

Quietly organised, properly run

We do not sell packages from a brochure. We talk about what you would like to do, from which species to how much walking you are comfortable with, and then we build the day around you.

Briefings are clear, timings are honest, and your guide stays with you throughout. What we promise in the planning is what you get in the field.

Welcoming guests from overseas

Welcoming guests from overseas

A large share of our guests travel from Europe, Scandinavia and North America to experience British field sports at first hand. We understand the questions that come with that, from licensing and equipment to airport transfers and accommodation.

We can arrange loan equipment, recommend local places to stay, and help first-time visitors settle into the pace of a British day in the field.

Ground we look after
Our Countryside

Ground we look after

Working across farmland, woodland, wetland and moorland, we take a long view. Cover crops are planted for the grey partridge, spinneys are managed for woodcock and deer, and wetlands are protected for the wintering wildfowl that use them.

Good sport depends on good habitat, and good habitat depends on patience. It is the part of the job that cannot be seen in a photograph, and the part we care about most.
