Driven Game

Traditional pheasant, partridge and woodcock shooting

Overview

Traditional pheasant, partridge and woodcock shooting on established British estates.

A driven game day is the great set-piece of British field sports — the line of guns, the cover ahead, the beaters working the wood, and the pheasant that comes over the high trees at exactly the wrong moment. Its rhythm is one of the oldest things in the countryside.

We arrange driven days on estates where the presentation of birds is genuinely good and where the day is run with proper manners. Expect traditional hospitality: a welcome, a draw for pegs, and a proper lunch between drives.

For smaller parties we also arrange walked-up and rough shooting days, which carry all the character of driven game with none of the formality.

What the day includes

  • Full driven days on established British estates
  • Walked-up and rough shooting days for smaller parties
  • Traditional hospitality, lunch and beaters provided
